Bali, beyond the checklist.
Most people know Bali's highlights. We like the bits in between: a ricefield walk before the tour buses arrive, a warung lunch that runs long, a swim spot you'd walk straight past if nobody pointed it out. An island most people think they know, with plenty of different turns left in it.
- Good for
- First big trip, groups of friends, surf and swim days
- When to go
- Dry season, roughly April to October

A hosted Bali trip for people who don't want to wait
Most people have a Bali trip in mind and a group chat that never quite commits. Our hosted Bali trip is for everyone who doesn't want to wait for friends to commit: come on your own or bring someone along, travel in a small group, and have someone from Unpinned on the ground from the first dinner to the last swim.
The route is planned and the free time is yours. You get the parts of Bali people come for, plus the bits in between, including a secret spot we keep quiet until you're there.
What the nine days look like
- Day 1, Ubud: land, settle in, wander the local market and meet the group over a welcome dinner.
- Day 2, Kintamani: Monkey Forest, lunch with a volcano view, Ulun Danu Batur Temple, the Batur hot springs and a sunset jeep on the rim.
- Day 3, Ubud: an ATV ride, white-water rafting on the Ayung River, then a free afternoon.
- Day 4, Ubud to Canggu: a coffee plantation, the Tegallalang rice fields and swing, Tirta Empul, then the first big night out at Mexicola.
- Day 5, Nusa Dua: water sports at Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua and Water Blow, then sunset dinner at White Rock on Melasti Beach.
- Day 6, Uluwatu: a slow morning, GWK, the Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu Temple at sunset, then Savaya.
- Day 7, Nusa Penida: fast boat across for Kelingking, Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong and Crystal Bay.
- Day 8, Canggu: a secret spot, Tanah Lot at sunset and a farewell night at Finns.
- Day 9: breakfast, swap photos and head for the airport.
